Today we start an article series on getting ready for pool season

Part 1: Clean up

This one might seem simple but old man winter has been blowing around dust and dirt and leaves and particles and all sorts of nasty things that we don’t want going in our pool when we open it up.

If your pool cover has been doing its duty, it has kept all of this debris from your pool. So step one is clean up the pool area surrounds and the pool cover itself.

  • Gently brush all debris from the winter cover, wiping where you can reach
  • Rake and sweep around the pool area
  • Remove all broken  twigs and branches that would just love to eat your pool liner
  • Place all debris in a sealed container for disposal or composting
  • do a final inspection of the area

And now you are ready for step two.
